Our Local Tours

This is the perfect hot weather hike! However it is very comfortable and even more beautiful in the cold months (ask us how!). We will be tackling The Narrows, an amazing trail that takes place a little on land and a lot in the water. We will meet at the Visitors’ Center, just inside the entrance to Zion National Park. We will board the park shuttles for a 30 minute trip at the bottom of the extremely scenic canyons that make up Zion.

At the trailhead we start off with one mile of “dry” path. This is the beautiful, shady but short Riverside Trail that meanders through the Narrows Canyon. It is mostly flat, and mostly concrete, which makes for easy going.

Then when we reach the end of that trail we get into the water for the “wet” portion. We can go as far as 13 miles in the river, though we rarely get more than two. The massive, awesome cliffs will surround you and take your breath away. The canyon walls will close in until they are scarcely 15 feet apart and two thousand feet high!

After that we return to the “dry” trail, board the park shuttle and head back to the Visitors’ Center. $650-$675 (guests are responsible for entry fee to Zion National Park.)

**Note** When the water temperatures in The Narrows get cold guests may wish to rent waterproof coveralls and boots. These can make a significant difference in each persons’ comfort level. The cost for rentals is around $65 per person and are the responsibility of the guest. We recommend Zion Outfitters which is located just outside the pedestrian/bicycle entrance of Zion National Park for rentals. Further details will be emailed after purchase of this tour.

The trails we have planned for your group will take you to dizzying heights (only if you want to), a chance to dip your toes in crystal clear pools with a waterfall, and a relaxing walk up one of the deepest and most beautiful slot canyons in the world while following a picturesque stream. 

We can cover as many as 7 miles (or less if you prefer), at a mild to moderate pace and elevation. You will be amazed at the red, white, pink and yellow cliffs, and the absolute majesty of the 2000-foot-tall Navajo sandstone mountains.

We will board the Park Shuttle and after a short ride we will arrive at the West Rim Trail head and hike up to Scout’s Lookout. If you are not in the mood for a 1000-foot climb, we can do the stunningly beautiful Watchman Trail in its place. The 400-foot elevation change makes for a more ‘friendly’ experience, but with beautiful views as well. Following the first hike, we will make our way to the Emerald Pools Trail head. This hike will take us to a beautiful waterfall with, of course, emerald pools. If the day is too warm for Emerald Pools, we will take the shuttle to the Riverside Trail head and hike into the deepest slot canyon on Earth. It is amazing!

This tour starts at 7:00 AM and is designed for those with a more relaxed state of mind. The hiking trails will only number two, and they are quite mild, though incredibly beautiful. We will loop through the main canyon, followed by the east side with its higher altitude and big horn sheep. We will finish with a leisurely hike on the west side of Zion. The stunning beauty of Zion National Park will remain with you for the rest of your life!

Our first trail will be the Canyon Overlook or a similar trail on the East Side. Then after a few view areas we’ll head for the West Side of Zion, an area that few people ever visit. Places visited will depend on timing.

This tour starts at 7:00 a.m. in order to catch the gorgeous sunrise at Bryce. However, depending on the timing, it may be possible to start later. Contact us for more information.

This half-day hiking tour of Bryce National Park showcases one of the most startlingly beautiful locations on Earth! This tour features the amazing colors and rock formations that are unique to Bryce. The combinations of reds, oranges, pinks, whites and others are so phenomenal that foreign photo shops have been known to mute the colors in the belief that no such places existed! In my humble opinion, this is one of the most gorgeous places in this quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy!

We will do as many as three different trails, dependent entirely on you. We can be moderate, strenuous, or mild, whichever suits you and your group. Our average day is about 4-5 hours of hiking or touring through the park in our van. There are hikes in the canyon, or along the rim based on your energy level or level of fitness. In addition there will be a natural arch, and a visit to the museum, if you want to. If there is time we can visit some incredible viewpoints as well!

This half-day tour of Bryce National Park showcases one of the most startlingly beautiful locations on Earth! This tour is especially for those who prefer a more laid-back approach. We will do mostly driving, but with a few shorter, easier hikes included. This tour features the amazing colors and rock formations that are unique to Bryce. In my humble opinion, this is one of the most gorgeous places in this quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy!

-Bryce Point 

-Rainbow Point 

-And the Natural Bridge Arch. 

We will do short hikes on parts of:

 -The Bristlecone Trail 

-The Rim Trail

 -And a short segment of the Navajo Loop.
